Read and Complete Activities June 15-August 17
READING
Complete 8 reading levels throughout the summer. On your Reading Log, color or mark a picture when you have completed that increment of reading time. In Beanstack log your reading online or in the app. Don’t forget that ebooks, audiobooks, podcasts, comics, newspapers, and magazines count toward your reading time. All reading must be logged by August 7.
ACTIVITIES
Complete an activity for each level and mark it on your Reading Log or complete that level’s activity badge in Beanstack. Try one of our suggested activities on the Reading Log or in Beanstack or visit the library’s Summer Library Challenge website for additional activities. All activities must be logged by August 7.
Earn Prizes June 15-August 7
KIDS
Visit the Children’s Desk when you have completed a reading level to receive the prize for that level. Kids will also receive a prize for each activity that they complete. Prizes available while supplies last.
TEENS & ADULTS
- Reading Prizes: Teens and adults can stop at the Teen Central Desk or Service Desk to pick up a prize for each reading level completed. Prizes available while supplies last.
- Weekly Prize Drawing: Teens and adults will also receive an entry into the weekly prize drawing for each reading level and activity completed. Beanstack users are automatically entered. If you are using a reading log, stop at the Teen Central Desk or Service Desk once you have completed a level and/or activity to be entered into that week’s prize drawing. Visit our website or Facebook page each week to see the upcoming prizes. All prize drawing winners will be notified via email.
Can You Complete All 8 Reading Levels by August 7?
We are challenging participants to complete all 8 reading levels by August 7. After completing the final level, stop by a library service desk to let us know. Readers that complete all 8 levels will be recognized with their first name on a yard sign. This sign will be placed in the library’s yard for the entire community to see.
You are welcome to take your yard sign home after the program ends. The last day to pick up your yard sign is Friday, August 21. Please leave your stake in the box in the vestibule of the Main Street entrance.
Finished All 8 Levels & Want Another Challenge?
Do you want to challenge yourself and do some additional reading this summer? Stop at any of the library’s service desks to pick up a bonus reading log or log into Beanstack to access the bonus reading badge. Earn a special button, sticker or bookmark if you complete this challenge. Stop at any public service desk to pick up your prize.
