Bookmobile FAQs
Do I need a special card to check out books from the Bookmobile?
No. Your regular HPL library card will work. If you do not have an HPL library card, you can get one at the library or ask the friendly Bookmobile staff for an application.*
*If a parent is not available to sign for a minor’s library card, the library staff may choose to issue a special Youth Card, which will allow the minor to borrow a maximum of three (3) items in print format only from the Youth Services collection. No fines or fees will accrue on this type of account.
How many books can I check out from the HPL Bookmobile?
Each cardholder can check out a maximum of 3 books from the Bookmobile. You can still check out materials at the library using assigned limits for those items.
What is the loan period for the books I check out at the Bookmobile?
The loan period for all books checked out from the Bookmobile is 3 weeks.
The materials you check out at the library will follow the loan periods for those items.
What types of materials are available to check out on the Bookmobile?
At this time, only books are available to check out. We have fiction and non-fiction titles for children, teens, and adults - as well as materials in Spanish.
Can I place a hold for books to be brought on the Bookmobile?
No, reserves are not available on Bookmobile materials - nor will reserved library
materials be delivered by the Bookmobile.
Where can I return the books I check out at the Bookmobile?
