A New Twist on an Old Book Club

The Community of a Book Club without the Homework!

We are giving our old Pages & Positivi-Tea online book club a makeover and it will now be held in person!

But this isn’t like any book club you’ve been in before. For starters, there is no assigned book. This concept is sometimes called the “UnBook Club” model where we won’t have a specific book to read or discuss. Just bring your current read with you! It gives participants the chance to choose what they like to read, and share about it with other readers without the pressure of reading a book on time, one they don’t enjoy, or can’t get a hold of.

Our refreshed Pages & Positivi-Tea book club is an opportunity to bring reading, an often solitary activity, into a communal space and create connections based on enjoying similar titles, or just enjoying reading. Drop in when you want, stay as long as you’d like, and read your current book in our comfy chairs and enjoy light snacks. We’ll save time at the end for those who want to share about what they are reading.

With the rise in popularity of BookTok and book discussions on other social media platforms, there is a lot of “talking” about books. But there is often still a lack of connection as social media is often one-sided beyond “liking.”

We hope that bringing readers together creates a shared community for book lovers that goes beyond the page. Join our “unbook club” this summer!
