Meet Merlin!
Merlin LCD is an enhanced vision, full color, auto-focus video magnifier system for individuals with low vision and is now available for patron use in Hedberg Public Library's Wisconsin Room.
The device found a new home at HPL thanks to a generous donation from St. Elizabeth Home, which no longer had space for it. St. Elizabeth Home is one of the library's Hedberg@Home Materials Delivery sites. The free service provides regular delivery of library materials to patrons in Janesville who are unable to visit the library due to age, a temporary or permanent physical condition, or lack of transportation.
Merlin is designed to be user-friendly and is operated by placing an item on the sliding table and adjusting the font/image size with the middle knob. Any printed book, document, or item can be magnified on the screen with 16 levels of magnification to choose from for easier reading. Learn more about HPL's other accessibility tools and resources here.
Patrons with more questions about the device and its operation are encouraged to contact HPL's Amy Christian or Mary Buelow at 608-758-6600.
