Hedberg Public Library is adding another service to meet the needs of the community. Our new Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program (VITA) offers free tax help to low-to-moderate-income individuals, providing assistance in preparing their tax returns. The VITA program is a partnership between the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and organizations such as public libraries.

Group of adult volunteers

The program runs February 4-April 15 with appointments available Wednesdays from 3-5:30pm and on Thursdays from 1-3:30pm. Registration is required for each appointment. Register online or by calling the library at 608-758-6600 and scheduling an appointment.

Tax assistance is by appointment only and there will be no day of walk-ins. Appointments are limited and there will only be one filing per appointment.
