Patriots of the American Revolution: Their Legacies in Wisconsin Exhibit

Hedberg Public Library will host the Patriots of the American Revolution: Their Legacies in Wisconsin exhibit September 2-30, 2025, in cooperation with the Janesville Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.

The exhibit was created by the Wisconsin Society Daughters of the American Revolution in anticipation of the Semiquincentennial celebration in 2026, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States. The eight-panel, interactive, traveling exhibit presents viewers with information about Patriots, their families, their migration to what is now Wisconsin, and their contributions. As the exhibit moves around the state, the kiosk will be customized to display information about Patriots and descendants with local connections.

Visitors to the library during the month of September will also find a curated display in the Woodruff Case from the Janesville Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution. Today’s DAR is dynamic and diverse, with over 185,000 members in 3,000 chapters in the United States and abroad. DAR members annually provide millions of hours of volunteer service to their local communities across the country and world.
