We want to keep you in the loop about a change that’s impacting libraries across the country. Our long-time book wholesaler, Baker & Taylor, has announced it will be closing.
Like thousands of other libraries, HPL has relied on Baker & Taylor to help us stretch our budgets and fill our shelves with the books and materials you love. Wholesalers like them make it possible for us to get the most out of every dollar, so we can keep offering a wide variety of titles for readers of all ages and interests. Baker & Taylor also assisted in processing materials before they arrived at our library, which saved us time and resources.
Over the years, HPL has established other supplier contracts, and we will continue to partner with them to maintain our inventory. You may, however, notice a slight delay in the arrival of some new releases or requested items due to alternate vendors being inundated with orders, as well as the need to process all incoming items in-house.
Please know that our commitment to connecting you with the materials you want hasn’t changed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we adapt to this shift.
If you have any questions or concerns, we’re always here to help.
