May Exhibits Include Watercolors, Quilts, and Vintage Wedding Items

For the month of May, we have three exhibits featured throughout the library.

In the Fireplace Room, we have the beautiful watercolor paintings of Barbara Hoch. While Barb says she felt intimidated by painting, you would never know it by the level of talent she has accomplished in just a few years. Watch Barb’s Meet the Artist interview on JATV here.

On the River Wall you will find the stunning quilts created by Sue Sunby. Sue’s journey with quilting began with a class she took at Blackhawk Technical College in 2000. Please stop by the library to not only see her quilts but to also learn about the history of quilts and the story of each of Sue’s quilts on display. Learn more about Sue and her art in this episode of Meet the Artist

A collection of vintage wedding cake toppers and other vintage wedding pieces collected by Barb Tamblingson fills the 360° Display Case. Barb started her collection around 1980, and it includes a variety of cake toppers, veils, a lamp, and a wedding dress from 1958. To learn more about Barb’s collection, check out her Meet the Artist.

Stop by the library during regular hours to enjoy the beautiful variety of artistic styles and mediums decorating the library. Viewers are encouraged to leave written comments for the artists in the binder located in the Fireplace Room. Thank you to Barb Hoch, Sue Sunby, and Barb Tamblingson for displaying their talents and collections at HPL.
