In May, we discussed how many TV Shows are based on books, and how many TV show companions and memoirs that Hedberg Public Library has on the shelf in addition to the shows and the books on which they're based.
This month, we're looking at a couple of the plethora of movies that are "based upon the novel by...," and also some of the behind-the-scenes books that HPL has.
| EmmaIf you love Jane Austen's Emma, about a meddling young woman in Regency England of whom Austen said, "I am going to take a heroine whom no one but myself will much like," try the 1996 Gwyneth Paltrow adaptation and/or the 2020 Anya Taylor-Joy version! Contrary to Austen's possible expectations, many consider Emma to be the author's greatest work. |
