Join award-winning authors Ann Bausum and Jamie A. Swenson for a conversation about Ann’s career, the interesting places her research has taken her, and about her many books for children, teens, and adults – including her latest book WHITE LIES: How the South Lost the Civil War, Then Rewrote the History which has received six starred - which is an extremely rare honor for any book. (Starred Reviews: Kirkus, BCCB, School Library Journal, Booklist, Publishers Weekly, Horn Book).

A book sale and signing benefiting the Friends of Hedberg Public Library will follow the conversation. 

Ann Bausum writes about history for readers of all ages from her home in southern Wisconsin. She works to make history feel alive and irresistible even for reluctant readers. Her books frequently explore issues of social justice, including women's voting rights, the civil rights movement of the American South, free speech, immigration, and queer history, both in the U.S. and beyond. www.annbausum.com 

Jamie A. Swenson has written numerous books for children, including her latest WE WANT LEAVES! A FALL CHANT. In addition to writing books for kids, Jamie has worked at Hedberg Public Library in the Children’s Department for twenty-five years.
