"Writing a novel is like driving a car at night. You can see only as far as your headlights, but you can make the whole trip that way," said E.L Doctorow. But a map helps, maybe some moonlight...
Let's make the journey smoother. Basic and technical, during "Novel Plotting & Structuring 101" we'll examine the arc of scenes and stories, the importance of getting to know your characters, and various methods and templates to (loosely) plan and plot.
We'll also take a peek at how famous authors outlined their novels to remind ourselves not many (if any) can sit and write a brilliant novel from start to finish.
Part of our series of Book Fest Writing Workshops hosted this November.
