Free information and assistance will be provided to high school seniors and their families and adults as they fill out the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This is the first and most important step in qualifying for financial aid. We can help - for FREE!
Checklist for information for applicant to bring:
- Your Social Security Number
- Your parents’ Social Security numbers if you are providing parent information*
- Your driver’s license number (if any)
- Your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen.
- 2009 Federal tax information or tax returns including W-2 forms for yourself and your parents*
If you have not yet filed an income tax return, you may save the FAFSA to complete at a later date or submit the FAFSA using estimated tax information.
The FAFSA can be updated and corrected at www.fafsa.ed.gov
- Savings and checking account records for yourself and your parents*
- Net worth of investments, including real estate (not your primary home) for yourself and your parents*
- Information on business and investment farm assets for yourself and your parents*
- Records of untaxed income such as tax-deferred pension payments, child support received, and veterans non-education benefits for yourself and your parents*
College Goal Sunday suggests that dependent students bring a parent or guardian.
If you are married, you will need income and investment information for your spouse.
