Voter Registration at Hedberg Public Library

New to Janesville? Just turned 18? Never voted before? Hedberg Public Library now offers voter registration for City of Janesville residents at the Reference Desk.
Voter registration is available at the library during regular library hours except two weeks prior to an election. In Rock County, only city of Janesville and city of Beloit residents must register to vote — residents of the town of Janesville or other Rock County townships or villages can simply go to their village or township office to vote. Voter registration also takes place at the Municipal Building, 18 N. Jackson St., or at the polls the day of the election. Eligibility requirements for voting:

Must be 18 years of age.
Must be a U.S. citizen.
Must be a Janesville resident for 10 days.
Must not have lost the right to vote (i.e., not be a felon).

Please bring one of the following forms of acceptable identification to the Reference Desk when you register to vote at the library:

A Wis. driver’s license with the correct address.
A Wis. identification card with the correct address, plus the last four digits of your Social Security number.
Any other official identification card or license issued by a Wis. governmental body or unit or by an employer in the normal course of business, but not including a business card.
A credit card.
A library card.
A check-cashing or courtesy card issued by a merchant.
A real estate tax bill or receipt for the current year or the year preceding the date of the election.
A residential lease effective for election day.
A university, college or technical institute fee card.
A university, college or technical institute identification card.
An airplane pilot’s license.
A gas, electric or telephone service statement for the period commencing not earlier than 90 days before election day. Note that it is a Class E felony for a voter to provide false information.
